Looking out over the Old City

The view from the Jerusalem Center is stunning! It's hard to believe that we have not even been here two days yet. I already love the people in my group and feel like I've known them much longer than I have. We have some of the most talented, friendly people I have ever met in our group. My room only has three people in it rather than four and my two roommates are great! They actually served their missions together in Ventura, CA and didn't know they were both coming to Jerusalem.

I'm heading out to the city for the second time in about half an hour. Yesterday we took a two-hour walking tour with one of the staff but today we're heading out on our own. I'm heading to the Temple Mount with about 10 other students, which will be awesome! The weather here is perfect, ranging between 55 and 70 so far with a little rain this morning. My first impressions of Jerusalem remind me a lot of the vielas of São Paulo. The roads in the Old City are narrow and windy but a lot cleaner than Brazil! Well, I'm off to study a little more!

If you want to get in touch with me, the best way is through e-mail. I'll post my address a little later when I get it from my room.

  1. I remember! I was where you are now 26 years ago. WOW! I wonder where we'll be 26 years from now! You are blessed and lucky. Eat a falafal and a schwarma for me! Is there still a Carvel Ice cream shop? Try that, too. Shalom. XOXO
